According to the actress, the FIR actually involves a model named Antara Soham Banerjee, who resides in Thane. Unfortunately, the mix-up in identity led to widespread confusion, causing significant distress for the actress and her family. Antara revealed that the impact was immediate and overwhelming, as she was flooded with over 900 phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and social media notifications within a mere 24-hour window.
Expressing her frustration over the lack of due diligence, Antara pointed out that a simple verification process could have easily prevented the error. She noted that her professional reputation, built through years of hard work, has been unfairly tarnished by this oversight. The actress has now issued a formal appeal to the media organizations and digital platforms involved, requesting them to immediately rectify the incorrect usage of her image and identity.
While addressing the media, the actress emphasized that her goal is not to bash the press but to advocate for the necessity of responsible journalism and proper fact-checking.
